JAMSHEDPUR – The 24th Jharkhand Senior State Basketball Championship prepares to welcome 26 teams for intense competition at Dhatkidih Center Ground.
East Singhbhum District Basketball Association leads the organization efforts.
Meanwhile, Jiren Topno, Head of Tribal Identity at Tata Steel Foundation, will inaugurate the event.
The tournament follows a dual-session format each day.
Moreover, morning matches run from 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
Additionally, evening games continue from 4 PM to 10 PM.
"This championship is crucial for building our state teams," remarked a basketball official.
The tournament serves as selection grounds for upcoming nationals.
Furthermore, selected players will represent Jharkhand at Bhavnagar.
Notably, the Senior National Championship begins on January 5 in Gujarat.
In recent years, Jharkhand has shown remarkable improvement in basketball.
Moreover, the state’s basketball program has expanded significantly since 2020.
