ATMA Approves ₹232.53 Lakh Budget for Agriculture Extension

Focus on coarse grains, water management, and pulse cultivation in 2024-25 plan

ATMA Government Body and District Food Security Mission Executive Committee approve comprehensive agricultural plan for 2024-25.

JAMSHEDPUR – A crucial meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal approved a ₹232.53 lakh budget for agricultural activities and extension programs in the district for 2024-25.

The District Extension Work Plan under the ATMA Agriculture Extension Scheme received approval for its ₹232.53 lakh budget.

Project Director of ATMA, Bibek Burua, presented the plan, which includes various training programs and initiatives to boost agricultural productivity.

The action plan encompasses inter-state and state-level training sessions, district-level farmer tours, and mushroom production training.

Establishment of farmer schools in each block and capacity development programs for women groups are key components of the plan.

Deputy Commissioner Mittal emphasized promoting coarse grain production through ATMA’s programs.

Farmers will be sent to institutions specializing in advanced water management and pulse cultivation methods.

Detailed program descriptions must be submitted through Senior Officer Dipankar Chaudhary for approval to ensure proper implementation.

The Food and Nutrition Security Krishi Innovation Scheme’s action plans were also approved during the meeting.

"We must target support to genuinely needy farmers through various demonstration programs," Mittal stressed.

The committee discussed equitable distribution of agricultural machinery and inputs to farmers.

Key stakeholders, including district officers and farmer representatives, attended the meeting.

The comprehensive plan aims to improve farming practices and food security in the district.

A district-level agricultural fair is planned to showcase advancements and innovations in farming.
