Union Minister Sanjay Seth Visits Jamshedpur, Slams Jharkhand Govt

Seth Attacks Hemant Soren on Law and Order, Salary Delays, Education Crisis

Key Points:

  • Seth visits injured BJP district chief Geeta Balmuchhu at hospital in Jamshedpur
  • Union minister accuses Jharkhand govt of financial, education, law-order failures
  • BJP national president’s Jharkhand visit expected to energise party workers

JAMSHEDPUR – Union Minister of State for Defence and Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth arrived in Jamshedpur on Wednesday, visiting the injured BJP district president and launching a sharp attack on the Jharkhand government over multiple governance failures.

Seth called on Jamshedpur BJP district president Geeta Balmuchhu at the hospital. She had sustained injuries in a road accident. Seth wished her a speedy recovery.

Balmuchhu, despite being hospitalised, had been keeping track of party activities, Seth told reporters. He expressed confidence that she would return to active party work soon, following her doctors’ advice.

Speaking to the media, Seth launched a strong broadside against the Hemant Soren-led state government. He charged the government with running on Congress’s support, with the administrative machinery in a state of collapse.

“The state’s economic, educational and law-and-order situation is deteriorating continuously,” said a source present at the briefing.

On the financial front, Seth claimed Jharkhand was facing a grave fiscal crisis. Doctors, teachers and other government employees were not receiving their salaries on time, he alleged. He warned that salary payment difficulties would worsen in the months ahead.

On education, Seth pointed out that thousands of schools across the state were running on single-teacher arrangements. This, he said, was severely affecting students’ learning. He also alleged that crime was on the rise and ordinary citizens did not feel safe.

Seth highlighted deficiencies in basic infrastructure. Roads, electricity, water supply, health services and education were all in poor shape, he said. The law and order situation was particularly concerning, with criminals emboldened, he added.

Meanwhile, Seth expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming Jharkhand visit by the BJP national president. He said party workers were highly energised about the visit. The tour would strengthen the organisation, he stated, and give workers an opportunity to carry the central government’s achievements to the public.

On the question of the Rajya Sabha election, Seth said the party would field a dedicated and hardworking worker as candidate. He said the announcement would be made shortly.

Regarding the tragic accident in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar, Seth expressed condolences to the families of the victims. He said the concerned administration was keeping a close watch on the situation and that necessary action was being taken.

NDA insiders noted that Seth’s visit carried both a political and personal dimension, combining a show of solidarity with the injured party leader and an opportunity to press the opposition on governance failures.

The BJP in Jamshedpur has been running a series of activities to bolster its ground presence in the region. Seth’s visit added to a line of senior BJP activity in Jamshedpur in recent months.

The Hemant Soren government has consistently maintained that it is providing transparent and timely governance. However, Seth dismissed that claim, saying the facts on the ground told a different story.
