JAMSHEDPUR – In a recent breakthrough, police have arrested Bharat Kamat in connection with the firing on brick kiln owner Ajit Singh in Rahargora under the Parsudih police station area.
The incident occurred on November 13 when Singh was shot twice in the arm following an alleged extortion dispute.
Singh reported that two days prior to the attack, he had been threatened for ₹50,000, which he refused to pay.
Based on Singh’s complaint, an FIR was filed naming Bharat Kamat, Bittu Kamat, and Vikas Kamat as suspects.
Following the arrest, Bharat Kamat was produced before a court and sent to judicial custody.
However, the weapon used in the attack remains untraced.
Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects and recover the firearm.
“We are actively pursuing leads and expect further developments soon,” a police official stated.
The case has intensified focus on extortion-related violence in the region.
