JAMSHEDPUR – NDA candidate Saryu Roy on Saturday urged voters in Jamshedpur West to unite, especially in areas with a majority community, to ensure a decisive win in the upcoming elections.

Addressing a gathering in a local school, Roy emphasized the importance of collective voting among majority communities, similar to the unity seen among minority voters.

Roy pointed out that in areas like Azad Nagar and Mango, minority communities effectively unite their votes across 75 polling booths, creating a significant impact.

He urged the 93 majority booths to vote with the same unity, stating, “If 75 booths can create pressure, why can’t 93 booths do the same?”

Call for United Voting and Key Election Issues

Roy explained that a united vote from majority communities in regions such as Mango, Sakchi, Bistupur, Kadma, and Sonari could be the deciding factor in the election.

He highlighted the criticism from opposition leaders like Banna Gupta and Rahul Gandhi against issues such as the removal of Article 370, accusing them of following an appeasement policy.

According to Roy, policy changes in the Waqf Board, opposed by Congress and Banna Gupta, reflect this approach. He said, “This election is about community unity and the larger interests of Jamshedpur West.”

Concerns Over Demographic Changes and Local Governance

Roy also raised the issue of changing demographics, particularly the rising Rohingya population in areas like Sahibganj and Pakur, which he described as a challenge to local stability.

He questioned the opposition’s stance on demographic changes, urging voters to consider the potential impact of population shifts.

In regard to the upcoming Mango Municipal Corporation mayoral election, Roy pointed out the importance of a locally elected candidate representing majority community interests.

“If the majority community votes unitedly, the mayor and funds will be in your hands,” he stated, stressing the long-term importance of local governance.
