JAMSHEDPUR – An 18-member Income Tax team raided the residence and office of Ganesh Chaudhary, a central executive member of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), early Saturday morning in Jamshedpur.

Chaudhary, a prominent businessman in Jamshedpur, owns multiple businesses, including Baroda Transport.

At 4:00 a.m., officials began surveying Chaudhary’s Adityapur residence, continuing their investigation of his financial records.

IT Raids at different properties have caused a stir amidst politically charged environment.

The three-day inquiry keeps Chaudhary away from the current electoral process in Jharkhand, while authorities carefully assess the tax compliance of his operations.

Chaudhary, known for his close ties with Jharkhand’s Chief Minister Hemant Soren, previously held responsibilities for the Saraikela constituency under Soren’s mandate.

Once an ally of former Jharkhand CM Champai Soren, Chaudhary grew critical of Soren after the latter joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Since then, Chaudhary has voiced strong opposition, heightening political tensions between them.

Political Dynamics Amidst Investigations

Following Soren’s move to the BJP, he has faced increased criticism from Chaudhary.

This ongoing raid on Chaudhary’s properties highlights the tense political landscape, with Champai Soren’s political alliances under scrutiny.

As JMM candidate Ganesh Mahali recently accused Champai Soren of attempting to imprison CM Hemant Soren, the JMM-BJP rivalry intensifies.

However, BJP leaders, including Champai Soren, have refrained from responding to Mahali’s claims.

Social Media Response from Champai Soren

Responding indirectly, Champai Soren posted on Facebook, “Don’t go to extremes to defame others; keep your own integrity intact.”

Political observers interpret this as a defense of his career, which he maintains has been free from scandal.

An insider shared, “Champai Soren’s words serve as both a defense and a warning.”
