MEDININAGAR – In a recent shooting near Medininagar’s Bairiya petrol pump, police registered a case against four suspects following a complaint by the victim’s son, Yishuraj.
According to the complaint, 40-year-old Rakesh Kumar was attacked on Thursday night after a minor dispute. Around 9 p.m., Rakesh, who had stepped out to meet Santosh Kumar behind his house on Bypass Road, was reportedly shot by four youths, all named by him and, all residents of nearby areas.
Following the incident, Kumar was rushed to MMCH hospital with severe injuries. Due to his critical condition, doctors on duty referred him to RIMS in Ranchi, where he is currently under treatment.
City police station in-charge Devbrat Poddar confirmed that they have registered a case based on the complaint and begun their investigation. The incident has heightened security concerns in the area, prompting police to increase patrols around Bypass Road.
