Major Crackdown on Illegal Brewing Units Ahead of Assembly Elections in Jharkhand

* Over 1700 kg of Mahua raw material destroyed during enforcement drive

JAMSHEDPUR – Excise officials launched a comprehensive crackdown on illicit liquor operations across multiple police jurisdictions in Ghatshila Assembly constituency.

The Assistant Excise Commissioner of East Singhbhum ordered the extensive operation.

Meanwhile, special branch officials conducted simultaneous raids at illegal brewing units and hotels.

The operation covered areas under Galudih, Ghatshila, Dhalbhumgarh and Musabani police stations.

Moreover, authorities confiscated approximately 25 litres of illegal country liquor.

In addition, the enforcement team destroyed 1,705 kilograms of Mahua flowers used for brewing.

Furthermore, officials initiated legal proceedings against the absconding suspects under relevant sections.

The intensified action came following specific complaints received by the special branch.

However, the timing of the raids was strategic, considering the upcoming assembly elections.
