‘Things just don’t work in USA’, an eye opener for America lovers

Entrepreneur Nathan Lands reveals shocking problems in the USA, from poor service to safety concerns, challenging the ‘American Dream’ perception.

Nathan Lands, after living in Japan, highlights dysfunctions in the USA like poor service, high costs, safety risks, and widespread drug addiction. His viral tweet, viewed over 46 million times, sheds light on the harsh realities often overlooked by those aspiring to move to the United States.

The recent disclosure by an American entrepreneur about the USA’s ‘dysfunctionalities’ is shocking. Nathan Lands, the founder of Lore.com posted a long tweet about all the things he realized were proof of a ‘low-quality’ standard in USA.

After living in Japan for over two years, Nathan recently visited the US with his wife. It made him realize that the USA is dysfunctional in so many ways including poor service, high costs, and public safety issues. He mentioned all the issues he witnessed in his recent post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

This tweet has got over 46 million views in just three days. Nathan’s disclosure is an eye-opener for those who dream to visit this most developed nation of the world once or strive hard to get green card there. Nathan’s tweet begins with the quote “little things that don’t work”.

Here are the things Nathan noticed and narrated:

Ø Everywhere you go, you run into little things that don’t work. Half the escalators we saw were not working.

Ø Soap was missing in the bathrooms. Once you notice it, you see it everywhere in America.

Ø Service is so bad in USA compared to Japan, and you have to tip.

Ø Nathan with his wife stayed at a nice hotel in Boston, and the workers went on strike. This meant the rooms didn’t get cleaned, and they banged on drums outside the window. Furthermore, not only did they not offer the service, but they harassed the Nathan family.

Ø Everything is so expensive.

Ø There is a sense of danger walking around US cities.

Ø Two homeless people harassed the visitor family; one ran in front of them like a zombie, and it freaked Nathan’s wife out.

Ø On two different occasions, the visitor family saw large men threatening women. One was very bizarre. In a mall dining court in Waikiki, a man threatened his girlfriend who was running from him that he would “bash her fucking brains in if she didn’t come back”.

Ø Homeless people in the US sometimes insult you if you don’t give them money.

Ø There are many car accidents in USA. The Nathan family got stuck in traffic twice due to accidents.

Ø Nathan asked Perplexity and apparently on a per capita basis, there are 2.5x more car fatalities in the USA than Japan.

Ø Flights get delayed in USA way more often. Perhaps this is another quality control issue.

Ø In America, the TSA (Transport Security Administration) is very rude and threatening. In Japan, they’re extremely polite and helpful.

Ø So many things are locked up in stores in the USA. The reason is that it can be taken away the persons, particularly non-whites have a poor reputation regardi it.

Ø Immigration in the US is slow, and they ask you tons of questions, which is wild considering our current border issue and how easy it is to get into the country illegally.

Ø Nathan remembers the situation in Japan. In contrast to the US condition, the immigration officials in Japan asked one question, smiled, and let him in.

Ø Public toilets are so disgusting in US and of course, toilets feel incredibly primitive.

Ø In cities, everywhere smells like weed, or worse.

Ø The portion sizes of Pizza, Hot dog or other junk food stuff are so huge. The large pizza size in India is equal to medium or small size in US. Nathan disclosed in his tweet that he gained seven pounds in just two weeks.

After reading all this, one thing must be coming to your mind that whether the situation is the same in the whole of America. Let me tell you that the United States of America is a group of 50 states. Out of these, the states with more Christian population and where white people live, the situation is good. But in the remaining states mostly with non-white population in majority, the situation is unpleasant. Moreover, many states and cities of America are in the grip of drug addiction.

For example, Miami is completely drowned in drugs. Stepping into Miami can be full of trouble. In few other cities too, it is a common scene that people under the influence of drug will be found lying here and there on the roadside. After recovering from the intoxication of drugs, once again these people do begging, snatching and other wrong deeds for the next dose.

Knowing all this about America is sure to send chills down your spine. Therefore, before going to America to make a career, know exactly where you are going in America. May God protect you and all of us from such troubles.
