Tata Steel Athletes Dominate East Zone Climbing Championship

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel Adventure Foundation athletes demonstrated exceptional skills, securing 52 out of 54 medals at the 26th IMF East Zone Sport Climbing Championship.
The four-day event concluded on September 29 at the Tata Steel Sport Climbing Academy.
Moreover, TSAF climbers claimed all gold medals in the competition.
Over 150 athletes from Jharkhand, West Bengal, Bihar, and Odisha participated in the championship.

The event featured three main disciplines: Lead, Speed, and Bouldering.
Furthermore, competitors from various age groups showcased their climbing prowess throughout the tournament.
Sub Junior, Junior, and Open categories for both boys and girls were part of the competition.
Meanwhile, Avinash Tripathy, District Sports Officer (East Singhbhum), graced the prize distribution ceremony.
Additionally, Amit Kumar, District Sports Officer (Saraikela-Kharsawan), joined in congratulating the winners.
Both officials encouraged participants to strive for excellence in future competitions.
On the other hand, Prashant Jee from JCAPCPL attended as a main guest of the event.
JCAPCPL, as TSAF’s grassroots development partner, has played a crucial role in nurturing climbing talent.
In fact, the organization has helped develop 500 grassroots climbers in the region.
Besides, JCAPCPL has supported TSAF in hosting major international climbing competitions in Jamshedpur.
The championship highlighted the growing prominence of sport climbing in eastern India.
