Maiya Samman Yatra Reaches Goilkera, Leaders Pay Tribute to Tribal Leaders

JAMSHEDPUR – The Maiya Samman Yatra, led by prominent JMM leaders, arrived in Goilkera on Sunday, where key figures paid homage to former tribal rights leader Devendra Majhi.
At the Goilkera market, JMM’s star campaigner Kalpana Soren, Agriculture Minister Deepika Pandey Singh, Minister of Women and Child Development Baby Devi, and Tribal Welfare Minister Deepak Biruwa laid wreaths at Majhi’s memorial site to honor his contributions to the forest and land rights movement.
Hundreds of party workers and supporters, including Singhbhum MP Joba Majhi, wife of the late leader, gathered to participate in the event.
Addressing the crowd, Kalpana Soren highlighted the significance of Devendra Majhi’s sacrifices, drawing inspiration from his fight to protect the forests, land, and water of the region.
Referring to the Maiya Samman Yojana, she reassured the crowd, saying, "The scheme will continue no matter how hard the opposition tries to stop it."
As the yatra proceeded towards Manoharpur, the leaders also paid tribute to Ishwar Sardar, a martyr of the Gua firing incident, at his memorial in Derwa Chowk.
