JMM Faces Challenge in Reorganizing Adityapur Committee After Champai Soren’s Exit
After Champai Soren’s defection to BJP, JMM struggles to finalize Adityapur committee leadership, seeking central intervention.
Key Points:
– JMM yet to finalize Adityapur committee leadership post-Soren’s exit.
– Adityapur committee crucial for Seraikela Assembly seat for JMM and BJP.
– JMM leaders maintain party strength despite Champai Soren joining BJP.
ADITYAPUR – Following former Jharkhand CM Champai Soren’s move to BJP, JMM is now reorganizing all committees in Seraikela, including Adityapur.
A meeting on Sunday aimed to form the new Adityapur Municipal Committee, but party leaders failed to agree on a candidate for leadership.
Due to this deadlock, the decision has now been passed to the central leadership.
After Soren joined BJP, Adityapur JMM President Deepak Mandal also resigned, adding further pressure on the party to secure Adityapur, which is key to winning the Seraikela Assembly seat.
In the last Assembly elections, Champai Soren gained a significant lead from Adityapur, defeating BJP’s Ganesh Mahali.
Now, with Soren in the BJP, JMM faces a major challenge in regaining its hold over Adityapur.
Prominent JMM leaders including state spokesperson Mohan Karmakar, Raju Gari, Ganesh Chaudhary, and district president Dr. Shubhendu Mahato were present at the meeting, but no consensus was reached.
Speaking to the media, Mohan Karmakar emphasized that Soren’s departure will not affect the party’s health.
He stated, “JMM is a party that nurtures leadership, and our focus remains on winning Seraikela.”
Karmakar also addressed opposition criticism of the Maiya Samman Yojana, defending Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s leadership, and dismissed claims that the opposition’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ would mislead the public.
