Third Rail Line Near Tatanagar to Be Electrified

New Track Set to Boost Train Movement in Chakradharpur Division

The newly constructed third rail line from Salga Jhari to Adityapur via Tatanagar will be electrified, marking a significant upgrade in local railway infrastructure.

JAMSHEDPUR – The newly constructed third rail line from Salga Jhari East Cabin to Adityapur Yard via Tatanagar is set to be electrified with 25,000 volts starting Saturday, June 29.

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has completed the track construction and installation of traction pillars along the new line.

Local residents are being cautioned to avoid accessing the area due to the high-voltage activation.

A trial run for goods trains on this third line between Tatanagar and Adityapur is anticipated in the near future.

South East Zone Railway General Manager AK Mishra conducted an inspection of the new line on June 15.

The exact date for the trial run will be determined following an inspection by the Chief Safety Commissioner.

RVNL is currently in the process of finalizing all necessary work on the new line.

In the Chakradharpur division, the third line construction is currently focused exclusively on the stretch between Tatanagar and Adityapur.

Once operational, this additional line is expected to significantly enhance passenger train movement in the region.

The electrification of this new track marks a crucial step in improving rail infrastructure and efficiency in the area.
