Dr. Ajoy Kumar Mocks Vande Bharat Launch Priority Over Rail Safety Concerns
PM Modi’s Visit Highlights Contrasts in Railway Priorities, Says Dr. Ajoy Kumar
Key Points:
• Ex-MP criticizes govt focus on Vande Bharat over rail safety measures
• BJP accused of neglecting Sarna religion code for tribal communities
• Questions raised about BJP’s claims regarding Bangladeshi immigrants
JAMSHEDPUR – Former MP Dr. Ajay Kumar has labeled the Vande Bharat train inauguration as a political event that overlooks local economic realities.
Dr. Kumar pointed out the stark contrast in government spending priorities.
“While each Vande Bharat inauguration costs around ₹2.35 crore, even ₹45,000 is not being allocated for Suraksha Kavach rail safety measures,” he stated.
The Congress leader emphasized that 35 crore people annually travel in general class trains.
He criticized the reduction of general and sleeper coaches in existing trains.
“The government seems to be working for just 2-3% of the population,” Dr. Kumar remarked.
Rail Safety Concerns
Dr. Kumar highlighted the Modi government’s failure to prevent rail accidents.
He urged the Prime Minister to prioritize punctuality and safety over luxury trains.
“The list of recent rail accidents is long,” Dr. Kumar noted, expressing concern over passenger safety.
Tribal Issues
The former MP accused the BJP of neglecting tribal interests in Jharkhand.
He pointed out the delay in implementing the Sarna religion code, a bill passed by the state cabinet two years ago.
“The BJP’s failure to approve this code proves their anti-tribal stance,” Dr. Kumar asserted.
Election Politics
Dr. Kumar suggested that the BJP’s recent pro-tribal rhetoric is a reaction to their 2024 Lok Sabha election losses in tribal constituencies.
“They’re now pretending to be tribal sympathizers,” he commented.
Bangladeshi Immigrant Claims
The Congress leader challenged recent statements by BJP leader Hemant Biswa Sarma about Bangladeshi immigrants.
“The Home Ministry has admitted in court that they lack data on Bangladeshis marrying tribals to grab land,” Dr. Kumar revealed.
He demanded Sarma’s resignation for making unsubstantiated claims.
