SERAIKELA – The "Swachhata Hi Seva" campaign, scheduled from September 17 to October 2, was discussed in a meeting led by Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla.
The campaign aims to promote cleanliness under the theme "Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskar Swachhata." From September 17 to October 1, various cleanliness activities will be conducted, leading up to Swachh Bharat Diwas on Gandhi Jayanti, October 2.
Officials from education, health, and other departments were instructed to collaborate for the campaign’s success. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for regular updates and photographs of activities to be submitted to the Saraikela Water and Sanitation Division.
Campaign Calendar and Responsibilities
The meeting highlighted key dates and activities under the campaign. Specific departments, including Panchayati Raj, MNREGA, and urban councils, were directed to ensure proper coordination. Special cleanliness drives in offices and nearby areas were mandated.
“Cleanliness is a shared responsibility, and coordinated efforts are essential for success,” said Mr. Shukla.
Engagement Activities and Awards
By September 15, areas to be cleaned under the CTU (Cleanliness Target Unit) were to be identified. Schools are to organize rallies, oath-taking events, and seminars to engage the public in the campaign.
On October 2, a district-level competition will honor the top three officials at district, block, and panchayat levels for their contributions to the campaign. Those providing significant support will also be recognized.

The meeting saw participation from several key officials, including Deputy Development Commissioner Prabhat Kumar Bardiar, Trainee IAS Kumar Rajat, Director DRDA Ajay Kumar Tirkey, and other district-level officers from various departments.
