JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel Foundation and Tata Motors have joined hands to train ITI students at Tata Motors’ Jamshedpur facility.
Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) and Tata Motors signed a Memorandum of Agreement on August 27, 2024, to collaborate on providing industrial training to students from ITI Tamar, ITI Chandil, ITI Jagganathpur, and ITI Banspal.
The agreement was signed by Ravindra Narsimha Kulkarni, Plant Head of Tata Motors, and Sourav Roy, CEO of Tata Steel Foundation.
Under this partnership, students will undergo practical training at Tata Motors’ Jamshedpur facility, gaining hands-on experience aligned with industry standards. The training is part of the Dual System of Training, an initiative of the Directorate General of Training, Government of India.
Tata Motors will support students by providing a stipend, lodging, boarding, transportation, and medical facilities during their training period. "We are committed to offering students comprehensive learning opportunities aligned with industry standards," said Sourav Roy, CEO of Tata Steel Foundation.
This collaboration is based on resource sharing, with no financial exchange between the two entities. It aims to enhance the skill development of ITI students, preparing them to meet the evolving demands of the manufacturing sector.
The initiative will help bridge the gap between the skills needed by the industry and the training imparted to students, creating a skilled workforce ready for the manufacturing sector.
