Burglary in retired DFO house in Sidhgora, property worth Rs. 10.80 lakh stolen

Jamshedpur: Criminals are having a field day in Sidhgora area as the local police remain clueless in contain petty as well as serious crimes. In the latest incident, unknown thieves broke into a house in Sidhgora and decamped with ornaments and other valuables worth Rs. 10 lakh.

The incident occurred Tuesday night as the thieves broke the lock of the gate and doors of the house of Sudhir Chandra Das, a resident of Neem Bhaththa located in Bagunahatu. Mr. Das is a retired DFO.

The stolen items include jewelry worth Rs 10 lakh and Rs 80,000 in cash.

There was no family member in the retired DFO’s house when the thieves broke into the house. Sudhir Chandra Das along with his other daughters had gone to the elder daughter’s house at Karanjia in Odisha.

Meanwhile, his other daughter Sujata Das, who lives nearby, saw in the morning that the gate of the house was open. She thought that her parents might have returned home.

On entering the house, she was shocked after seeing the condition of the house.

The lock of the house was broken, while everything was strewn around.

Jewelry and money kept in the almirah were also missing.

She informed her father about the break-in.

Meanwhile, on getting information, Sidhgora police also reached the spot and started investigating the matter.

During the last few months, several criminal incidents have been reported in Sidgora area.

These include incidents of theft, burglary and even murder.

Sidhgora Police has been unable to contain the rising number of crimes in the area in the recent times.
