SERAIKELA – The political storm in Jharkhand has settled following former Chief Minister Champai Soren’s shift to the BJP.

Reactions are pouring in, with some supporting his decision while others criticize it as detrimental.

On Wednesday, Chief Minister Hemant Soren is set to visit Gamharia, Champai Soren’s stronghold, to attend the Kolhan Division-level Women’s Honor Scheme event at Rapcha Maidan.

Soren will distribute benefits under the “Jharkhand Chief Minister Maiya Samman Yojana.

District administration preparations were reviewed on Tuesday by Singhbhum MP Joba Manjhi, Minister Deepak Birua, and other Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leaders, who declared the arrangements sufficient and predicted an unprecedented crowd.

Notably, this marks the first visit by CM Hemant Soren to Champai Soren’s base without his former ally, fueling speculation.

Minister Deepak Birua expressed confidence in the success of the event, dismissing concerns over Champai Soren’s departure from JMM.

“Leaders have come and gone before; the party remains strong. We will rebuild and strengthen the organization,” Birua stated.

Ghatshila MLA Ramdas Soren also downplayed the impact of Champai Soren’s exit, emphasizing the grassroots strength of JMM and its crucial role in Jharkhand’s statehood movement.
