Champai Soren’s Delhi Visit Fuels BJP Joining Speculation
Former Jharkhand CM’s trip sparks rumors of potential party switch
Champai Soren’s Delhi visit intensifies speculation about his possible alignment with the BJP.
JAMSHEDPUR – Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren’s Delhi trip on Monday has reignited rumors of his potential BJP membership.
Champai Soren’s recent visit to the national capital has fueled widespread speculation about his political future, with many observers suggesting a possible shift to the BJP.
Despite previous denials of BJP talks during an earlier Delhi trip, Soren’s latest visit has reignited rumors of political realignment.
When questioned about his current trip, Soren maintained that he has not met with BJP leaders, but hinted at a significant decision in the coming days.
Inside sources suggest that Soren’s joining the BJP may be imminent, with final discussions reportedly scheduled with senior party leadership.
A political analyst familiar with the situation stated, "If the BJP secures victory in the upcoming assembly elections, Champai Soren could be a strong contender for the chief ministerial position."
Reports indicate that Soren may be seeking an assembly ticket for his son, Bablu Soren, as part of potential negotiations.
Interestingly, Soren had recently mentioned plans to form a new political outfit, adding another layer of complexity to the ongoing speculation.
Contradicting Soren’s statements, Assam Chief Minister and BJP co-in-charge for Jharkhand assembly polls, Himanta Biswa Sarma, claimed to have been in talks with Soren over the past few months.
Sarma expressed his desire for Soren to join the BJP, stating, "Champai Soren’s inclusion would significantly bolster our party’s position in Jharkhand."
The Assam Chief Minister also extended an invitation to current Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to consider joining the BJP, citing infiltration as a major challenge facing the state.
"We’re open to discussions with Hemant Soren to address Jharkhand’s pressing issues, particularly the problem of infiltration," Sarma added.
Sarma acknowledged Soren’s stature in Jharkhand politics and expressed hope for future talks, saying, "The door for dialogue with Champai Soren remains open."
As political circles buzz with speculation, all eyes are on Champai Soren’s next move, which could potentially reshape Jharkhand’s political landscape.
