Champai Soren to Raise Voice Against “Rampant Infiltration” in Jharkhand

Soren criticizes JMM for not addressing the threat to tribal communities from illegal infiltration in Jharkhand.

Champai Soren, set to join the BJP on August 30 in Ranchi, has raised concerns over the growing illegal infiltration in Jharkhand, which he believes poses a severe threat to the survival of tribal communities in several districts of the state.

JAMSHEDPUR – For Champai Soren, illegal infiltration of Bangladeshi Muslims is going to be a ‘key issue’ going forward. He views this issue as ‘existential threat’ to tribals and has underlined the need to turn this into a ‘social movement’ to get rid of this threat.

In a latest statement shared on social platform “X”, Champai Soren said that he has decided to join BJP because it is the only party that shares his views on ‘illegal infiltration’ and also added that his erstwhile party, JMM, did not offer any forum where he could raise this issue.

It is almost confirmed now that the former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren will officially join the BJP on August 30, citing illegal infiltration as a critical issue ignored by his former party, JMM.

In a statement on social media platform ‘X’, Soren expressed his frustration with the JMM, stating that the party lacks a platform where he could voice his concerns regarding the alarming rate of illegal infiltration in the state.

Soren highlighted the increasing presence of illegal immigrants in the Santhal Pargana region, especially from Bangladesh, which he said endangers the land and cultural heritage of the indigenous tribes.

“Despite the heroic efforts of our ancestors who never succumbed to foreign rule, today their descendants’ lands are being taken over by these intruders,” Soren lamented.

He warned that the rapid economic and social decline of tribal communities due to this issue could lead to their extinction in areas like Pakur and Rajmahal, where the immigrant population now exceeds that of the tribals.

Soren also accused other political parties of ignoring the issue for electoral gains, asserting that only the BJP is taking it seriously.

“Therefore, I have decided to join the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah,” Soren stated, calling for support from Jharkhand’s tribals, Dalits, backward classes, and the general populace in this struggle.
