Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren expresses condolences, calling it an irreparable loss

Catherine Hembram, spouse of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MP Vijay Hansda, succumbed to cancer on August 23.

RANCHI – Catherine Hembram, wife of JMM leader and Rajmahal MP Vijay Hansda, passed away after battling cancer on August 23.

The 5-year marriage of Catherine and Vijay Hansda came to a tragic end with her untimely demise.

Catherine hailed from Nalhati village in West Bengal’s Birbhum district.

She was a science graduate and the daughter of a stone mining company owner.

The news of her passing sparked widespread grief among political circles.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his condolences.

In his message, Soren referred to the loss as “irreparable” for the JMM family.

He extended his sympathies to Vijay Hansda, whom he called his “younger brother.”

Soren prayed to Marang Buru for peace for the departed soul.

The Chief Minister also wished strength for the bereaved family during this difficult time.

Catherine’s young age at the time of her passing added to the tragedy of the situation.
