Governor, CM pay respects to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary

Ranchi: The Governor of Jharkhand Mrs. Draupadi Murmu and the Chief Minister Hemant Soren today paid floral respects to Bhagwan Birsa by offering flowers at Bhagwan Birsa’s Samadhi Sthal as well as his statue at Birsa Chowk to mark his birth anniversary as well as the foundation day of Jharkhand.

The Governor Draupadi Murmu and the Chief Minister Hemant Soren also congratulated the people of Jharkhand on the 20th Foundation Day of Jharkhand.

Bowing to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his anniversary, the Governor said that a new state of Jharkhand was formed 20 years back on this day. Since then, the state has been treading the path of progress. However, we still have to fulfil the dreams of Dharati Aba, she said.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minsiter Hemant Soren said that the state is entering its 20th year of foundation. We have had to struggle long and hard for this state. It is a matter of pride for everyone in Jharkhand to remember through different programmes and activities the contributions made by martyrs like Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Sidho Kanho, Neelambar Pitambar and Shekh Bhikhari. 

He said that with the help of everyone, the state has been leaping towards a bright future.
