BJP’s Duplicity Exposed in Bhuiyandih Housing Dispute: Dr. Ajoy Kumar

Dr. Ajoy Kumar criticizes BJP for feigning sympathy after filing NGT complaint

Former MP Dr. Kumar reveals BJP’s deception in Bhuiyandih crisis, highlighting their NGT complaint and subsequent false show of concern.

JAMSHEDPUR – Ex-MP Dr. Ajoy Kumar exposes BJP’s duplicity in Bhuiyadih housing issue, criticizing NGT complaint and feigned sympathy.

Residents of Kalyan Nagar in Bhuiyadih have been enduring deplorable living conditions for years.

No improvements have been made in the last five years, forcing inhabitants to live in what can only be described as hellish circumstances.

Dr. Ajoy Kumar, a senior Congress leader and former Member of Parliament, addressed journalists at a press conference held in Parisadan on Saturday.

He accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of inflicting pain on the residents and then putting on a show of applying balm to their wounds.

"The BJP has stooped to unimaginable lows for the sake of power," Dr. Kumar stated emphatically.

He revealed that on August 30, 2023, Munda Arjun, then Union Minister for Tribal Affairs and a senior BJP leader from Jharkhand, had filed a complaint with the National Green Tribunal (NGT) in New Delhi.

The complaint targeted approximately 150 houses in Kalyan Nagar, Indira Nagar, and along the riverbank in Bhuiyadih, alleging illegal encroachment.

Initially accepted by the NGT under application number 567/2023, the case was later transferred to the Kolkata bench and renumbered as 145/2023/EZ.

Dr. Kumar accused the BJP of consistently deceiving the people of Jamshedpur, citing this recent NGT complaint as the latest example of their duplicity.

He also criticized Roy Saryu, a BJP-affiliated leader, for failing to provide civic amenities to these settlements over the past five years.

BJP and Roy Saryu: Two Sides of the Same Coin

"BJP and Roy Saryu are two sides of the same coin," Dr. Kumar declared, equating their actions and motivations.

He accused Mahato Vidyut Varan and Roy Saryu of deceiving the residents of Bhuiyadih, asserting that the BJP is attempting to conceal its true intentions.

"The residents are facing difficulties today because of the complaint filed by the BJP leader in the NGT," Dr. Kumar stated.

He further alleged that Roy Saryu is now making every effort to protect his colleague Munda Arjun, spreading misinformation on social media and misleading the people of Bhuiyadih.

Dr. Kumar criticized Roy’s premature Facebook post claiming victory in the NGT case, which was later dismissed.

"They’ve gone from bad to worse," he remarked, referring to the BJP’s actions. "They came to make improvements but ended up causing more harm."

Dr. Kumar emphasized that the people of Bhuiyadih have been suffering for 25 years, and even in the last five years under the current MLA Roy Saryu, no significant improvements were made.

Commitment to Protect Homes

"We will not allow a single house in Kalyan Nagar, Indira Nagar, or along the riverbank in Bhuiyadih to be demolished," Dr. Kumar declared, expressing his commitment to protecting the residents’ homes.

He assured that his lawyers are closely monitoring the case in the NGT.

The Jharkhand government has been given until September 2 to present its case before the NGT, and Dr. Kumar stressed that this is a priority matter for the current administration.

"My advocates and the Advocate General of Jharkhand are keeping a close watch on this case," he concluded, reaffirming his dedication to safeguarding the interests of the affected residents.
