Police Escort Vehicle Overturns on Seraikela-Kandra Road, Driver Killed, Five Injured
One Policeman Dead, Five Seriously Injured in Accident Involving Escort Vehicle of Former CM Champai Soren.
A tragic accident on the Seraikela-Kandra Road late Tuesday night resulted in the death of police driver Vinay Kumar Singh and left five other police personnel seriously injured after their escort vehicle overturned.
SERAIKELA – A severe road accident on the Seraikela-Kandra Road at Mudiya Turn late Tuesday night claimed the life of Vinay Kumar Singh, a constable and driver of a police escort vehicle.
The vehicle was returning after escorting former Chief Minister Champai Soren to his residence when it suddenly overturned at the Mudiya Turn, resulting in the tragic accident.
The vehicle, bearing registration number JH 22A-1084, was carrying six police personnel at the time of the accident.
Upon overturning, all the occupants were thrown onto the road, scattering their weapons across the road as well.
Vinay Kumar Singh, the driver, succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the other five police personnel sustained serious injuries.
The identities of the injured officers have not yet been confirmed.
Local villagers arrived at the scene a little later due to the late hour, but by the time they arrived, Vinay Kumar Singh had already passed away.
The injured officers were initially taken to Sadar Hospital but were later referred to Jamshedpur for better treatment due to the severity of their injuries.
