Jamshedpur: Sakal Jain Sangh in Jamshedpur hosted a celebration of the Mahavir Janma Kalyanak Mahotsav on Monday on the premises of Sakchi Jain Sangh premises. The day commemorated the birth of Lord Mahavir, the final and twenty-fourth Tirthankara in Jainism.

Around eight in the morning, a large procession headed out of Sakchi Jain Bhavan to kick off the festivities.

The Shobha Yatra began in Sakchi Jain Bhavan and concluded at Sakchi Golchakkar, Sanjay Market, and Gujarati School.

Following the parade, there was a gathering and speech at the Sakchi Jain Bhavan auditorium where everyone who participated spread the message of global peace.

One of Jainism’s most significant religious holidays, Mahavir Janma Kalyanak, is observed in March or April according to the Gregorian calendar.

Bhagwan Mahavir was born in the year 599 BCE on the thirteenth day of the shukla paksha in the month of Chaitra, according to Jain traditions.

The majority of contemporary historians believe that Kundagram, which is present-day Kundalpur in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district, is where he was born.

The Mahavir Janma Kalyanak Mahotsav event by the Sakal Jain Sangh in Jamshedpur showcased the city’s diverse population and rich cultural history.

The Mahavir Janma Kalyanak Mahotsav is a significant event for Jains and it is celebrated every year in the city too with devotion and in traditional manner.
