Violent Assault on Satyanarayan Mahato at Local Hotel
A brutal attack on AJSU’s Satyanarayan Mahato by a group of youths in Seraikela Kharsawan district raises concerns over political violence.
SERAIKELA – Satyanarayan Mahato, Central General Secretary of AJSU, was ambushed and injured by a group of assailants while dining at Gorai Hotel near Gitibeda Toll, under the jurisdiction of Kandra police station.
The attack, executed by 8-10 individuals on bikes armed with sticks, rods, and swords, occurred on Wednesday evening, resulting in severe injuries to Mahato.
Mahato’s bodyguard, Suresh Verma, recounted the events leading to the violent encounter, noting an initial altercation with three youths prior to the main assault.
Following the incident, Mahato was rushed to TMH for emergency treatment, highlighting the severity of his injuries sustained in the assault.
Police have commenced an investigation into the attack on Mahato, a notable political figure in the region, as the community reels from the shock of the violence.
