JAMSHEDPUR – The city police have arrested three persons in connection with the alleged mob justice case in which a 20-year-old Aman Munda died due to injuries sustained after being thrashed by the local people.
Aman Munda, 20, fell victim to a brutal attack by a crowd on Monday morning, which accused him of stealing an LPG cylinder.
The police have detained three suspects in connection to the incident that unfolded in Jahertola, Baridih, stirring alarm across the densely populated area.
Following the assault, both Munda and another youth, Sanjit Dhan, were rescued by police and taken to MGM Medical College Hospital, where Munda later succumbed to his injuries.
Sidhgora Thana’s officer in charge has clarified that, despite the tragic outcome, the incident does not qualify as mob lynching under their assessment.
The conflict began around 4 a.m., when Munda and Dhan were intercepted with an LPG cylinder, sparking suspicion and leading to a violent confrontation.
Dhan, who also suffered serious injuries during the attack, is currently receiving medical care. Before the assault, the victims were forced to disrobe their jackets, intensifying the ordeal.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident, focusing on the circumstances leading to Munda’s death and the extent of the assailants’ involvement.
