JAMSHEDPUR – Uttara Sabarimala Temple prepares for its annual Saastha Preethi festival beginning Thursday.
Temple Chairman P N Sankaran announced the celebration details. The festival continues until February 9.
Brahma Shree Vijayabhanu Ghanapadigal will guide the ceremonies. The events follow Shanmatha Stapana traditions.
Meanwhile, organizers plan various religious rituals. Special homams and poojas highlight the celebration.
Cultural Performances
Acharya Bhakta Sabha will present devotional bhajans. Renowned musicians will perform Nadaswaram recitals.
Moreover, the festival includes a grand Rathotsavam procession. Various cultural events complement religious ceremonies.
Temple Heritage
The Bistupur temple mirrors Kerala’s Sabarimala shrine. It has served devotees since 1974.
Furthermore, four major Kumbhabhishekams mark its history. The latest consecration ceremony occurred in 2020.
However, this year’s focus remains on Kaumaram traditions. The temple continues its six-fold Vedic worship cycle.
