Police Accused of Detaining Man Who Reported Land Mafia Threats

Victim’s brother alleges Mango police locked up complainant instead of acting on report

A shocking accusation has emerged against Mango police for allegedly detaining a man who reported threats from land mafia members attempting to seize his property.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Mango police station in-charge faces allegations of detaining Ahmed Qureshi after he reported threats from land mafia members trying to seize his property.

Md Feroz Qureshi, the victim’s brother, submitted a memorandum to the City SP detailing the incident.

According to Feroz, a group of land mafia members had threatened their family on Sunday night.

Ahmed Qureshi promptly informed the Mango police station about the threats, but no immediate action was taken.

Surprisingly, an hour later, police arrived at their residence and took Ahmed Qureshi to the station.

Feroz claims his brother was placed in a lockup upon arrival at the police station.

When family members went to inquire about the situation, they were allegedly ignored by the police.

The group of land mafia members reportedly consisted of 10-15 individuals who issued various threats, including shooting.

The family has requested the SP to take action against the mentioned land mafia members and provide them with security.

This incident raises serious questions about the conduct of local law enforcement and their response to citizen complaints.
