Rail Suicide Tragedy: Employee of Suraj Logistics Company Ends Life Near Birbans

Rajesh Mandal, a Suraj Logistics Company employee, allegedly ended his life by jumping in front of a train near Birbans railway station. Investigations are underway.

SERAIKELA – An employee of Suraj Logistics Company, Rajesh Mandal, allegedly ended his life on Tuesday morning around 8:30 am. 

He allegedly jumped in front of a train near Birbans railway station, which is located between Gamharia and Sini station on the Tatanagar-Chakradharpur rail section.

Eyewitnesses reported that Rajesh Mandal was seen arguing with another youth just before he jumped in front of the incoming train. 

As the train neared, Mandal suddenly threw himself onto the railway track near pole number 268/7. 

In the tragic accident, Mandal died on the spot.

The unidentified youth with whom Mandal was arguing prior to his suicide immediately fled the scene.

BJP Block Vice President and social worker Ranjit Barik was on hand to alert both the Sini Railway Station and the Seraikela Police about the incident. 

Soon after, Sini OC Amol Ghosh and his team arrived at the scene and began an investigation.

When the police obtained information about the deceased from the company, the management was only able to provide his name, Rajesh Mandal, and that his address was in Kolkata. 

They were unable to provide any additional information.

The incident drew a large crowd from nearby villages. 

Seraikela police are also looking into the case and examining the scene. 

As of now, the reason behind Mandal’s suicide remains unknown, and the investigation continues.
