Tragic Accident Claims Life at Jugsalai Crossing

Local Businesswoman’s Mother Fatally Struck by Train Near Closed Railway Gate

Incident highlights urgent need for safe pedestrian crossing at busy Jamshedpur intersection.

JAMSHEDPUR – A senior citizen loses her life in a heartbreaking train collision, raising concerns about pedestrian safety near closed railway crossings.

A somber atmosphere enveloped Jugsalai as news spread of a tragic incident involving a local resident.

Saroj Devi, mother of Naya Bazar businessman Rajkumar Mittal, met with a fatal accident near the closed Jugsalai railway gate.

The unfortunate event occurred as the elderly woman was returning from a Brahmakumari yoga session in Bistupur.

Witnesses reported that Devi, who had hearing difficulties, was caught unawares by an approaching Asansol MEMU train.

"She panicked when she suddenly noticed the train, but her footwear got stuck, causing her to fall," recounted a bystander at the scene.

The incident has reignited discussions about the long-promised foot overbridge in the area.

Local authorities have faced criticism for the year-long delay in constructing this crucial infrastructure.

"We’ve been urging for safer crossing options for months now," stated a concerned community member.

Despite the gate’s closure, residents continue to risk their lives by crossing the tracks, highlighting the urgent need for alternative routes.

Railway officials remind the public to exercise extreme caution near railway lines and to use only designated crossing points.
