JAMTARA – A shocking incident following the Jamtara Assembly election results has sparked outrage after a video showing the harassment of BJP candidate Sita Soren’s daughters went viral.
Sita Soren, who is also the sister-in-law of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, faced defeat in the election, securing 89,590 votes against Congress candidate Irfan Ansari’s 1,33,266 votes.
The video shows Sita Soren’s three daughters—Jayashree, Rajashree, and Vijayashree—being harassed by Congress supporters as they attempted to leave the area.
The incident occurred shortly after the poll results were announced.
The daughters were heading towards their vehicle when Congress supporters surrounded them, shouting slogans and creating chaos.
Security personnel had to intervene to ensure their safe exit.
Sita Soren took to social media platform X to condemn the harassment.
In her post, she expressed heartbreak over the incident and highlighted the sacrifices her family has made for public service.
“This is the same Jamtara where my husband dedicated his life to serving the people,” she wrote.
She criticized Congress supporters for their behavior, questioning the safety of women in areas governed by the party.

Sita Soren praised her daughters’ resilience during the ordeal, stating, “They faced every insult with the courage of lionesses and stood tall with dignity.”
She also raised concerns about the safety of women in the region, emphasizing the need for stricter measures to protect them.
