In a significant operation, the Jamshedpur Forest Division has arrested three individuals in the Sonari area for possessing leopard skin.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur Forest Division achieved a major success with the arrest of three individuals found in possession of leopard skin during a raid in the Sonari police station area.
DFO Shaba Alam Ansari revealed that the department had been receiving information for some time about a person in Jamshedpur attempting to deal in leopard skin for a sum of Rs. 10 crores.
Acting on this intelligence, forest officials conducted a raid in Sonari, leading to the arrest of the suspects.
The DFO further mentioned that the investigation is ongoing, with efforts being made to apprehend other individuals involved in this wildlife trafficking network.
Jamshedpur Range Ranger Digvijay Singh added that a team has been dispatched to Garhwa to conduct additional raids as part of the operation.
The forest department is working tirelessly to identify and arrest the kingpin of this illegal trade.
Ranger Singh emphasized that those involved in the trafficking of animal skins will not be spared under any circumstances.
