RANCHI – BJP is gearing up for the Jharkhand Assembly elections, with plans to finalize seat sharing and announce candidates by the end of August.
The party is focusing on deciding seat distribution before releasing its first list of candidates, particularly for reserved seats.
Key leaders, including BJP State President Babulal Marandi, former Union Minister Arjun Munda, Election In-charge Shivraj Singh Chauhan, and Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, will finalize the decisions after consultations.
Sources indicate that BJP may release the first list of candidates for around 40 seats, with further announcements to follow.
The party is also in discussions with its alliance partners, with a crucial meeting scheduled with AJSU in Delhi on Saturday.
There is also the possibility of talks with JD(U) regarding an alliance and seat sharing.
Jayaram Mahato, leader of Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha (JLKRM), is also heading to Delhi on Saturday, sparking political speculation.
While Mahato has denied any alliance talks, BJP is interested in engaging with him, making the upcoming discussions significant.
BJP is reportedly considering offering AJSU seven seats, while JD(U) may be offered five if an alliance is formed.
AJSU is seeking more than 10 seats, and JD(U) is also requesting 10, making the negotiations crucial.
BJP is carefully strategizing to ensure successful seat sharing and a smooth path to forming the government in Jharkhand.
