SARAIKELA – A family returning from a wedding was attacked by miscreants near Adityapur S-Type Chowk late on Friday night. The incident left six people, including women and children, injured and their car heavily damaged.

The Incident

Pankaj Kumar Singh, a resident of Adityapur near Rain Basera, was returning home with his family after attending his brother-in-law’s wedding in Ghoda Bandha. The family was traveling in their car when they encountered a group of drunk men blocking the road at S-Type Chowk.

When the driver honked, the attackers became enraged, vandalized the car, and assaulted the family members, including Singh’s father Akshay Kumar Singh, mother Shobha Devi, brother Ritesh Kumar Singh, sister-in-law Santoshi Kumari, and two children.

Immediate Aftermath

Injured and bloodied, the family managed to reach the Adityapur police station to report the incident. The police were informed about the miscreants, who are suspected to have been part of a wedding celebration taking place near the site of the attack. By the time police arrived, the attackers had fled the scene.

Police Investigation

Authorities have registered a case and are investigating the matter. The incident has raised concerns about safety and security in the area, with residents demanding stricter action against such lawlessness. Police are working to identify the attackers, believed to have attended the nearby wedding party.
