Ranchi University Ends Lockout with Solutions

AJSU protests lead to examination form deadline extension and waiver of late fines at Ranchi University.

Student union actions prompt operational improvements in Ranchi University’s examination processes.

RANCHI – Ranchi University’s Examination Department has made concessions following a four-hour lockout initiated by the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) Ranchi University unit.

The university agreed to extend the examination form submission deadline to February 29 and waive late fines.

This decision came after negotiations led by AJSU and Ranchi University’s Examination Controller Ashish Kumar Jha.

The lockout, organized to demand better operational efficiency, saw the participation of various AJSU members, including State President Om Verma.

Abhishek Shukla, AJSU Ranchi University President, vocalized the frustrations of the UG session ‘22-‘26 students over administrative inefficiencies.

He criticized the requirement for examination form submissions to be based on internal marks, complicating the process for many.

Marwari College also faced issues, with admit cards listing incorrect subjects, prompting a demand for immediate correction.

The university’s response to these protests reflects a commitment to addressing student grievances and improving administrative processes.
