Jharkhand Launches Ambitious Women’s Welfare Scheme – Mainyan Yojana

Mainya Samman Yojana to Benefit Millions of Women Across the State

A new welfare initiative in Jharkhand aims to empower women through monthly financial support, with widespread participation expected.

RANCHI – Jharkhand’s government has introduced the Mukhya Mantri Mainya Samman Yojana, a scheme set to provide monthly financial assistance to eligible women across the state.

The program targets women aged 21 to 50 years, offering a monthly stipend of Rs 1000 to those meeting specific criteria.

On the inaugural day of the state-wide registration camps, 2,582 applications were received from various districts.

Manoj Kumar, Secretary of Women, Child Development and Social Security, shared this information during a media briefing on Saturday.

Kumar emphasized the government’s mission-mode approach to maximize coverage under the scheme.

"We anticipate that approximately 50 lakh women in Jharkhand will benefit from this initiative," he stated.

District-level camps have been organized to facilitate smooth implementation of the program.

Instructions have been issued to district social welfare officers, assistant directors of social security, and CDPOs across all districts.

The application portal, developed by JAP IT, was officially launched by the Chief Minister.

Despite initial technical hurdles due to slow network speeds, these issues have been promptly addressed.

Kumar assured that application verification would be conducted exclusively through the JAP IT portal.

The portal received an impressive 36,000 hits within the first hour of launch and approximately 15 lakh hits throughout the day.

"We’re confident that this scheme will significantly contribute to the empowerment of women in our state," Kumar remarked.

He added that awareness chariots were dispatched on August 2 to promote the scheme in each district.

The Chief Minister’s office is directly overseeing the monitoring process at the departmental level.

To be eligible, women must be between 21 and 50 years old and not be beneficiaries of any other pension scheme.

Required documents include an Aadhar card, ration card, EPIC card, and an Aadhar-linked bank account.

Applicants must also be residents of Jharkhand.

Application forms are available online, with submissions for August accepted through the portal from August 21.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren flagged off 10 LED vehicles from the Jharkhand Assembly premises on Friday to disseminate information about the scheme across different districts.
