Water Crisis Grips Parts of Jamshedpur for Three Days

Debris in Moharda Treatment Plant disrupts supply to multiple areas

Birsanagar, Baridih Basti, Bagunnagar, and Baguhatu face water shortage due to clogged Moharda Water Treatment Plant.

JAMSHEDPUR – Several areas in Jamshedpur have been facing a drinking water crisis for three days due to debris accumulation in the Moharda Water Treatment Plant.

The affected areas include all zones of Birsanagar, Baridih Basti, Bagunnagar, and Baguhatu.

A BJP delegation, led by former district president Dinesh Kumar, met with Abhishek Kumar Dubey, an official from Tata Steel Utility and Infrastructure Services Company Limited.

The delegation expressed their displeasure over the disruption in water supply to the affected regions.

Dubey explained that continuous rainfall in the Subarnarekha River has led to debris clogging the intake well, hampering water supply.

A special team has been formed by the management to conduct cleaning operations both day and night.

Dinesh Kumar called the situation "very unfortunate" and hoped for a swift resolution to provide clean water to residents on time.

During their visit to the water treatment plant, the delegation noticed a sinking pillar on the path to the intake well.

This structural issue could potentially cause a major accident and lead to long-term water supply disruptions.

The management is working to address both the debris accumulation and the structural concerns at the plant.

Local BJP leaders, including Birsanagar and Baridih mandal presidents, were part of the delegation that inspected the facility.

Residents are hopeful that the authorities will resolve the issue quickly to restore normal water supply to the affected areas.
