JAMSHEDPUR – A pivotal Forest Advisory Committee meeting, scheduled for August 27, is set to deliberate on the crucial forest clearance proposal for the long-awaited Dhalbhumgarh Airport project.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change’s Advisory Committee (AC) is preparing to convene its sixth meeting of 2024, with the Dhalbhumgarh Airport’s forest clearance proposal taking center stage.

Slated for August 27 at 3:00 PM, the high-level gathering will unfold at Indira Paryavaran Bhawan in New Delhi.

The Director General of Forests and Special Secretary will oversee the proceedings, which could significantly impact the region’s infrastructure landscape.

"This meeting could be a game-changer for Jamshedpur’s connectivity dreams," remarked a local aviation enthusiast, speaking on condition of anonymity. "We’ve been eagerly awaiting progress on the Dhalbhumgarh Airport for years."

The Forest Clearance (Stage-I) proposal for the airport project is expected to be thoroughly examined during the meeting.

1. Vora Suramya Dolarray – AC Member

2. Sh. Bisht Naveen Chandra – FAC Member (Plant Genome Research Institute)

3. Sh. Pant Manoj – AC Member

4. Agricultural Ministry’s NRM Deputy Commissioner

5. Central DDGF officials

6. State and UT Nodal Officers
