GAMHARIA – The Adityapur Municipal Corporation conducted a survey of the meat market near the ancient Sheetla Mata Temple in Gamharia Bazaar on Saturday, creating panic among the meat vendors.
The market has been established close to the temple, with meat vendors reportedly encroaching on the temple premises.
Mantu Dubey, head of the Gau Raksha Singhbhum Department, strongly objected to this and appealed to the municipal and district administrations to take action.
Following this, City Manager Devashish Pradhan inspected the meat market on Saturday.
City Manager Devashish Pradhan was reported as saying that the matter will be reported to the administrator and a solution will be sought.
It remains to be seen whether the municipal administration will succeed in removing the meat market or if it will remain a mere paperwork exercise.
