JSCA Stadium Ranchi to Host India-England Test as BCCI Announces 2023-24 Home Season Schedule

The BCCI reveals its international home season 2023-24 plan, highlighting India’s Test against England at Ranchi’s JSCA Stadium.

RANCHI – After the completion of the 50-over World Cup, India will lock horns with Australia in a five-match Twenty20 International series. Starting on November 23 in Vizag, the series will conclude on December 3 in Hyderabad.

Before the World Cup, India is set to kick off the domestic season with a three-match ODI series against Australia in September. The matches will be hosted in Mohali, Indore, and Rajkot.

According to the BCCI’s venue rotation policy, a committee including Amitabh Vijayvargiya, Jayendra Sehgal, and Hari Narayan Pujari, oversaw the process of selecting locations for the senior men’s side’s 16 international games, comprising 5 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 8 T20s.

The five-match Test series against England, which will start on January 25, 2024, will take place in Hyderabad, Vizag, Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharamshala, following the T20I series.

Furthermore, Afghanistan will embark on its first-ever white-ball bilateral tour to India, with the last of the three-match T20I series scheduled to take place in Bengaluru, the location of Afghanistan’s first Test match, after fixtures in Mohali and Indore.

The BCCI’s Technical Committee has finalized the locations for the domestic season 2023–24. JSCA International Stadium has already seen two Test matches. The second match between India and South Africa in October 2019 resulted in an astounding win for India by an innings and 202 runs, while the first Test against Australia in 2017 was a draw.

The highlight of the schedule is the fourth Test between India and England, set to occur from February 23 to February 27, 2024, at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi.
