Heavy Rains Flood Jamshedpur MGM Hospital, Disrupt Services

Waterlogging affects pediatric ward and laundry, patients inconvenienced

Kolhan’s largest government hospital faces operational challenges as heavy rainfall causes significant flooding in multiple departments.

JAMSHEDPUR – MGM Hospital grapples with extensive waterlogging following Friday’s downpour, impacting patient care and staff mobility.

Heavy rainfall on Friday led to severe waterlogging at MGM Hospital, Kolhan’s primary government healthcare facility.

The flooding affected several areas, including the pediatric department and laundry, causing significant disruptions to hospital operations.

Water ingress through windows near the emergency department resulted in considerable inconvenience for patients in the adjacent ward.

"This isn’t the first time we’ve faced such issues during the rainy season," a concerned patient remarked, highlighting recurring infrastructure problems.

Hospital staff faced challenges in moving around the premises due to the waterlogged conditions.

Once the rain subsided, hospital personnel worked diligently to remove the accumulated water from affected areas.

The incident has raised questions about the hospital’s preparedness for monsoon-related challenges.

Patients’ reports of recurring flooding issues during rains underscore the need for improved infrastructure at the government facility.
