Street Play Raises Voter Awareness in Jamshedpur

PATH marks Rashtriya Nukkad Natak Divas with performance aimed at upcoming elections.

‘Loktantra’ street play performed to educate voters ahead of Lok Sabha elections.

JAMSHEDPUR – The People’s Association for Theatre (PATH) observed National Street Play Day with a special performance in Jamshedpur.

The event took place in front of the Press Club office in Sakchi, aiming to increase electoral participation.

The play titled ‘Loktantra’ was directed by Mohammad Nizam and featured a cast of dedicated artistes.

Performers included Swaroop Khurshid Alam, Suman Saurabh Kumar, Mani Pradhan, and others, engaging the audience with their act.

The day is dedicated to Safdar Hashmi, who used street theatre to foster social awareness and was killed in 1989 while performing.
