Jharkhand Ministers Launch World-Famous Festival, Emphasize Pilgrim Safety
Shravani Mela 2024 was inaugurated by Jharkhand Ministers Mithlesh Kumar Thakur and Deepika Pandey Singh, highlighting the importance of safety and convenience for pilgrims.
DEOGHAR – The Shravani Mela 2024 commenced with a grand inauguration ceremony at the Dumma Kanwaria Path on the Jharkhand border.
Jharkhand Ministers Mithlesh Kumar Thakur and Deepika Pandey Singh jointly inaugurated the event.
Eleven Vedic priests conducted the worship of Baba Baidyanath to mark the formal start of the festival.
Minister Thakur emphasized the importance of ensuring the convenience and safety of the Kanwariyas (pilgrims).
He assured that the district administration, following the Chief Minister’s directives, is dedicated to providing all necessary facilities to the devotees visiting Baba Nagari Deoghar.
“This is a collective responsibility for the state government, district administration, and all of us,” Thakur stated.
Deoghar is prepared to welcome the Kanwariyas in a grand manner.
Minister Singh highlighted Shravani Mela’s significant identity not only within the state but also across the country.
She emphasized the goal of making the pilgrimage experience pleasant and convenient for the Kanwariyas, ensuring they face no difficulties.
“Our aim is to facilitate the easy and smooth offering of water by the Kanwariyas to Baba Baidyanath,” Singh said.
Special care will be taken to ensure their comfort.
MLA Naan Das welcomed everyone and expressed hope for providing better facilities for the devotees.
Deputy Commissioner Vishal Sagar, in his welcome speech, introduced the administrative and facility arrangements for the fair and expressed gratitude to the ministers, guests, and devotees.
The event concluded with Deputy Development Commissioner Naveen Kumar expressing his thanks.
Key attendees included Tourism Secretary Manoj Kumar, Vice President of the Twenty Point Programme Munnam Sanjay, Superintendent of Police Ajit Peter Dungdung, Sub-Divisional Officer Sagari Baral, and other dignitaries.
The Shravani Mela is expected to see twice the number of devotees compared to last year, and the administration is keen on ensuring a smooth and memorable experience for all.
