Journalist Sheikh Alauddin Dies in Tragic Road Accident in Seraikela

Senior journalist Sheikh Alauddin dies after being hit by a speeding truck in Seraikela.

Sheikh Alauddin, a senior journalist from Mudiya, was fatally injured after being hit by a truck on the Kandra-Seraikela main road.

SERAIKELA – Sheikh Alauddin, a 65-year-old journalist from Mudiya, succumbed to injuries after a speeding truck hit his motorcycle near Chandpur Baiganbari on the Kandra-Seraikela main road.

The accident occurred on Tuesday at around 11:30 AM as Alauddin was heading towards Seraikela.

The truck hit him from behind, causing him to fall off his bike.

The truck then ran over his legs and fled the scene.

Locals rushed him to TMH for treatment, but he passed away during treatment.

Police are currently searching for the truck.

Former Chief Minister Champai Soren and former Union Minister Arjun Munda expressed their condolences and prayed for the departed soul.

The Press Club of Seraikela-Kharsawan organized a tribute meeting, with President Manmohan Singh calling Alauddin’s death an irreparable loss to journalism.

He remarked, "Alauddin was always a guiding force and never compromised on his principles, even at this age."

Journalists and district officials also mourned his passing.

Alauddin was known for his gentle and sociable nature.

The Press Club’s members, including Santosh Kumar, Bipin Varshney, Rasbihari Mandal, Sanjeev Kumar Mehta, Pramod Singh, Navin Pradhan, Ankit Shubham, Parmeshwar Gorai, Balram Panda, Sumit Singh, and Sanjay Satpathy, were present at the tribute meeting.
