Hearing Held For Rs 40 Lakh Jewellery Theft Case In Jamshedpur
Nine Accused Declare Innocence In Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court
Next hearing scheduled for July 15 to present defense witnesses.
JAMSHEDPUR – Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Vishal Gaurav presided over a hearing for the Rs 40 lakh jewellery theft case from Sakchi, where nine accused recorded their statements.
"All accused have declared their innocence," a court source stated.
The theft occurred at Ajay Kumar Modi’s residence in Sakchi Rajendra Nagar between September 29 and October 9, 2022.
Stolen items included gold chains, diamond bangles, rings, necklaces, and gold coins.
The accused include residents from various areas of Jamshedpur, including Mango, Azadnagar, and Jugsalai.
An FIR was initially lodged against unknown persons at Sakchi police station.
"The next hearing is scheduled for July 15 to present defense witnesses," the source added.
Eleven people have testified in the case so far.
This high-profile case has drawn attention to security concerns in Jamshedpur’s residential areas.
The court proceedings highlight the complexity of resolving such substantial theft cases.
