Lottery Held for 25% Reserved Seats in Jamshedpur Private Schools

143 children selected for enrollment in second phase of admissions

Deputy Commissioner oversees transparent selection process at Collectorate

JAMSHEDPUR – A lottery was conducted at the Collectorate Hall to allocate 25% reserved seats in private schools, as mandated under the Right to Education Act.

Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal supervised the proceedings, ensuring transparency in the selection process.

"We’ve completed the lottery for 43 schools where applications exceeded available seats," stated the Deputy Development Commissioner, who chaired the event.

– 143 children selected for enrollment in this phase

– 43 schools participated in the lottery process

– 12 schools with fewer applications also finalized admissions

Schools given 10 days to complete online enrollment process

The lottery was conducted in the presence of:

– District Education Superintendent

Education Officer

– Principals of participating private schools

– Representatives of parents’ associations

"This process ensures fair access to quality education for children from disadvantaged backgrounds," remarked a school principal attending the event.

The lottery system aims to provide equal opportunities for students from economically weaker sections and disadvantaged groups to study in private schools.

Schools have been instructed to complete the online enrollment process within 10 days.

This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to promote inclusive education and bridge socio-economic gaps in access to quality schooling.
