Sidhgora Surya Mandir Committee Rejects MLA Saryu Roy’s Development Proposals
Temple Committee officials accuse Saryu Roy of politicizing sacred site in Jamshedpur
Controversy erupts over planned construction at Shankh Maidan within temple premises.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Surya Mandir Committee has strongly opposed MLA Saryu Roy’s recent recommendations for construction at the temple’s Shankh Maidan.
Committee President Bhupendra Singh accused Roy of attempting to destroy the religious and spiritual significance of the site.
"For the past four and a half years, Roy has been conspiring to undermine the importance of the Surya Mandir, its Chhath Ghat, and Shankh Maidan," Singh stated in a press release.
The committee alleges that Roy is making baseless accusations to remain in the news.
"Roy’s claim that Committee Patron Chandragupt Singh is encroaching on land is laughable," Singh remarked.
The Surya Mandir Committee asserts it has been managing the temple without controversy for 25 years.
Chandragupt Singh accused Roy of attempting to destroy the temple rather than beautify it.
"Roy is only interested in taking credit by placing his name on development work done by others," Singh claimed.
The committee compared Roy’s actions to Mughal attempts to claim existing Indian monuments.
They cited examples of Roy allegedly replacing plaques on projects initiated by former MLA Raghubar Das.
"Roy is unable to initiate his own development projects, so he’s trying to take credit for others’ work," Chandragupt Singh stated.
The temple officials emphasized their commitment to maintaining the site’s sanctity without political interference.
They warned that the committee would not tolerate any attempts to hurt religious sentiments or traditions.
This conflict highlights the tension between Saryu Roy supporters and the Surya Mandir Committee and its supporters over local development matters.
