Jamshedpur FC retains AFC Pro Licensed Coach Khalid Jamil, setting sights on consistent performance and leveraging the city’s rich football legacy.
JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur FC has officially announced the retention of Khalid Jamil as head coach for the upcoming season, building on his successful stint from the previous campaign.
"Our goal is clear – we want to win the ISL for our dedicated fans," Jamil stated, emphasizing his commitment to the club’s ambitions.
Jamil, the FPAI Coach of the Year 2020-21, led a remarkable turnaround last season, guiding the team to the Kalinga Super Cup semi-finals.
"Khalid’s understanding of Indian football and man-management skills align perfectly with our aspirations," remarked Choudhari Mukul, Jamshedpur FC’s CEO.
The coach highlighted plans to leverage Jamshedpur’s rich football legacy, including the Tata Football Academy and the 80-year-old JSA League.
Under Jamil’s leadership, Jamshedpur FC remained unbeaten in his first five ISL games last season, accumulating 11 points.
The club is preparing for a busy calendar, including participation in the Durand Cup, Indian Super League, and Super Cup.
Jamshedpur FC’s pre-season camp is tentatively scheduled to begin in July, with new signings expected to be announced soon.
Jamil, also the I-League Best Coach Award 2016-17 winner, expressed his commitment to daily improvement and consistent performance.
