Jamshedpur FC secures its first foreign signing of the season, extending the contract of dynamic Japanese midfielder Rei Tachikawa for two more years.

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur FC has announced the retention of Japanese midfielder Rei Tachikawa, marking their first foreign signing for the upcoming season. The 26-year-old player has committed to the club for an additional two years.

"Tachikawa’s versatility and competitive spirit are invaluable assets to our squad," stated Head Coach Khalid Jamil. "His technical skills and high-tempo play perfectly align with our team’s strategy."

In his debut season with Jamshedpur FC, Tachikawa made a significant impact, featuring in 22 matches across the Indian Super League and Kalinga Super Cup. He netted five goals and created 25 chances, establishing himself as a key player.

Tachikawa expressed his enthusiasm about continuing with the club, saying, "The support from fans and the unique culture of Jharkhand have made my time here truly enjoyable. I’m excited to build on last season’s performance and help the club reach new heights."

Before joining Jamshedpur FC in 2023, Tachikawa played for Maltese side Sirens FC, where he made 23 appearances and scored two goals. His European football journey includes stints with Portuguese clubs Perafita and Felgueiras.

As one of the top-performing foreign players of Asian origin in the ISL last season, Tachikawa’s retention is seen as a strategic move by Jamshedpur FC as they prepare for the upcoming season under Coach Jamil’s guidance.

Fans can look forward to seeing Tachikawa, wearing the number 8 shirt, contribute to what promises to be an exciting season for the Red Miners.
